In today’s competitive world , Getting a job is a tedious task. Thus, People these days are looking for alternative methods to earn money. One of the well known way to earn money is to start your own business. If you’re a male then the things are a bit easier for you to start your own business but when a female entrepreneur tries to do the same . She has to face many obstacles to establish a successful business.
In this article we’ll discuss about the problems that are being faced by the female entrepreneurs and also we’ll try to throw some light on “Why there are very less successful female entrepreneurs in the world compared to male.”
Even though the number of women entrepreneurs these days are growing but still there are too few female entrepreneurs. Whenever you attend some sort of seminar related to entrepreneurship, then at that event you can count the number of women present there on your fingers.
Women entrepreneurs often encounter the problems that are not faced by their male counterparts. Some people cite “Gender” as the reason but that is not completely true. There are many other aspects to a story and we’ll try to elaborate those sides of stories here.
Lack of funding(Limited access to funding)
One of the most important reason of a successful start up is they get funding from the investors. According to a report of 2015 less than 3 percent of venture-capital-funded companies had female CEOs. Reason for this might vary from person to person but the truth is female entrepreneurs don’t get the necessary fundings from investors.
Most of the venture capital firms have more male partners / Investor. It is the tendency of humans to trust their kind (Tribe). When a VC firm has more number of women partners then it is more likely to invest in start – ups which are run by women. Women entrepreneurs lack funds which holds them back.
Inability to take risks
It is women’s tendency to not take unnecessary risks but when you’re running a start-up then it is the thing which is required most. When you take some risk then chances are that you will lose something or might gain something for your newly started company. There are 50 percent chances of success but taking risks is very important for a successful business.
I think that inability to take great risks is one of the reasons of women’s less number in this field.
Balancing personal and private life
This problem is not faced by only women entrepreneurs but is very prevalent in male community of entrepreneurs too. Balancing personal and private life is a gargantuan task, it is even tougher task for a mother to balance both. But with time people learn the ways to manage both. Sometimes, You just need to give yourself a break from the work and at that time a female entrepreneur can spend time with her family.
Having a family should not hold female entrepreneurs back but instead it must motivate them to work better.
Fearing the failure
In a study, It was found that the fear of failure is one of the major cause which is holding female entrepreneurs back. Failure is a real possibility, when you start a new business but this should not be holding female entrepreneurs back from achieving some great experience and success. To get massive success one must not concern about the massive failure.
Even if you fail hundred times you will stand at the same place , but if you get even an ounce of success then you will become more successful than yesterday.
Fearing “failure” is not going to take entrepreneurs anywhere. Thus , it should be taken in a positive note. So, these were some reasons which are holding female entrepreneurs from receiving enormous success in this field.
